After brilliantly winning the World Cup 2022 with Argentina, now is the time for Messi to think seriously about his future.

Following Argentina’s World Cup victory, Barcelona president Joan Laporta tweeted: “Well done, Leo. Indeed, you merit it. That’s a moment football’s owed you.”

The president of Blaugrana had originally planned to attend the World Cup final, but changed his mind at the last minute.

On the campaign trail for the presidency, Laporta pledged to do everything it took to keep Messi at Barcelona but failed. The departure of the Argentine, who set several club records while playing for Blaugrana, was lamented by their legion of devoted supporters.

Messi’s future once his contract with PSG expires in June 2019 is up in the air.

The David Beckham-founded club has made it clear they want to get Messi. If Messi takes Beckham up on his offer, he may make around $14 million each year. His pals on the team, Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez, have reported been contacted by Inter Miami in an effort to recruit him.

PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi said he had visited with Messi’s agent after the World Cup to explore the potential of a new deal, and the announcement came just before the final.
