Lewandowski opposes Messi

Robert Lewandowski is one of three Barcelona players who strongly reacted to the idea of Lionel Messi returning to the Camp Nou.

Lewandowski does not want Messi to return to Barca

According to a source in Spain’s El Nacional newspaper, three Barcelona players do not support the Blaugrana bringing Messi back to the Camp Nou field that has made his name.

Lewandowski is said to be looking to continue to be Barcelona’s biggest star, and that probably won’t happen if Messi returns. The former Bayern Munich superstar thinks Messi will steal his attention if the Argentine legend returns to the club.

Lewandowski has made it clear to club president Joan Laporta and vice president Mateu Alemany that he opposes the idea of Messi’s return.

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen also does not like Messi’s return, as the pair’s relationship does not seem to be good.

And yet, young star Ansu Fati also does not want to see Messi in the club squad, because that means he will have to hand over the number 10 shirt. Fati has had a difficult time playing this season, and his minutes will be reduced if Messi returns.

El Nacional revealed that the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner is likely to extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), so a return to Camp Nou is unlikely.
